Found solitary or in groups on decaying hardwood logs.
Description
Fruiting body: Color varies from dirty white to light brown or gray, convex or depressed center. Stalk: Similar to cap, usually tapers down; stalk often so buried in well-rotted wood that fruiting body appears stalkless. (J. Solem, pers. comm.)
