Description

This submerged aquatic plant has leaves in whorls of 3. Compare it to Hydrilla (which has leaves in whorls of 5) and Elodea canadensis. Elodea canadensis has relatively stout leaves (averaging 2 mm wide and 2-5x longer than wide) compared to Elodea nuttallii (leaves averaging 1-1.5 mm wide and 5-10x longer than wide).
