Blue-tipped Dancer (Argia tibialis) is a dark species of dancer usually found on small to medium-sized creeks and rivers, but sometimes larger ones, usually within a forested setting. It sometimes will occur on degraded streams in developed areas (Paulson, 2011). This species is abundant in Maryland (Richard Orr's Dragonflies and Damselflies of Maryland and District of Columbia).

Argia tibialis, the blue-tipped dancer, is a species of narrow-winged damselfly in the family Coenagrionidae.[1][2][3][4] It is found in Central America and North America.[1]

The IUCN conservation status of Argia tibialis is "LC", least concern, with no immediate threat to the species' survival. The population is stable.[5][6]
